Strategic Plan

Welcome to another important year of membership in the premier public relations association! We are so grateful for your investment in advancing the roles, the voices and the appreciation for South Carolina’s PR professionals.

PRSA has released its strategic plan for the next few years: PRSA VISION 2020: THE COURAGE TO CHANGE. Grab a cup of coffee and take a few minutes to be ENERGIZED by the priorities laid forth in the plan. You will find it here.

Over the next three years, PRSA will focus on eight strategic priorities:
• Innovation and Change
• Governance and Culture
• Discipline Convergence
• Membership
• Diversity and Inclusion
• International Potential
• Advocacy
• Civility

Within this framework are five goals:
1. Position PRSA as the leading source of professional development for communications professionals.
2. Redesign the membership model to maximize engagement with communications professionals.
3. Continue to invest in technologies required to remain relevant and enhance the user experience.
4. Strengthen PRSA’s role as the voice of the communications professional.
5. Increase organizational excellence.
Within the goals are detailed objectives for success. You may need a second cup of coffee!

As we watch many of our seasoned professionals move toward freelancing or retirement, some of the most important objectives are targeted towards mentorship and collaboration. We can do so much for each other – as individuals and as a group of 200.

Our workforce and the scope of our discipline is evolving. Over the next few months, let’s work together to make our plan the guiding star for SCPRSA. I’d love to hear from you at any time – [email protected].
