Happy February and welcome to Black History Month! Our Professional Development team is working to identify opportunities to share time with experts in our industry. February 17 at noon, we’ll meet Peter Woolfolk for a program on The Need for Diversity and Inclusion in Public Relations. You can register here. Look for an announcement on our March First Amendment program coming soon.
Thank you Emily Moseley, 2020 VP of Professional Development, for a rich Connect Conference last month. Dynamic speakers, meaningful, current topics and a sack-full of takeaways gave this virtual morning true value! And our Mercury Awards team shared their submittal best practices via livestream. You can see a recording here. Don’t forget the deadline, Friday, February 19. You can learn more here.
If you know any of this year’s board members, please make sure you thank them. This remarkable group of professionals is navigating their roles after only minimal interaction and handoff, due to – what else? – COVID!
Thank you, renewing members! Please let us know if you have news to share or if you’ve read a great book or heard a riveting podcast! We’ll share it here.
I must also thank our long-serving Administrator Karla Falk. She is trying to retire, and we are in the process of advertising for a new administrator. Karla is helping with outlining what we’ll need to advertise, and for that – and so many other things she does –, we are all grateful!
