Mary Eaddy, APR, Fellow PRSA, led Dr. Daniel Fultz, associate dean the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and chair of Communication and Media Arts at Charleston Southern University, Poynter Institute trustee Paula Ellis and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Doug Pardue in a discussion on ethics, “fake news,” and what it means for today’s PR professionals.

September is Ethics Month for PRSA chapters across the country. SCPRSA’s September program focused on the role of the PR practitioner at a time when “fake” news is a topic of debate. Separate panel discussions took place in Columbia, Greenville & Charleston to discuss how PR professionals can maintain ethical standards and elevate communications in today’s media landscape.
