President's Report
Dear SCPRSA Members,

One of the most valuable aspects of belonging to SCPRSA is the opportunity to connect with peers who understand our work, experiences and challenges. Networking is more than a LinkedIn connection or attending events—it’s about building meaningful relationships that support your growth, broaden your perspective and strengthen your confidence.
Think about how often you turn to friends or neighbors when you need a recommendation. Whether it’s finding a trusted electrician, a doctor or the best place to eat, personal referrals carry weight. Professional networking works in much the same way. When you build strong connections within your field, you create a circle of trusted colleagues who can offer guidance, share opportunities and advocate for you when it matters most.
These relationships can open doors in ways that traditional methods cannot. A conversation with a peer may lead to a new idea, a collaboration or even a career opportunity you wouldn’t have discovered on your own. Just as importantly, networking provides a space to celebrate successes with people who understand your journey.
Be sure to check the SCPRSA calendar for upcoming events. Introduce yourself and take the time to learn about others’ experiences. Together, we are a connected community where everyone benefits from shared knowledge and relationships.
Cheering you on,

Meredith Houck
President, SCPRSA
